Otto Warmbier Dead – Brain Damage from North Korean Torture

FILE - In this March 16, 2016, file photo, American student Otto Warmbier, center, is escorted at the Supreme Court in Pyongyang, North Korea. Warmbier, whose parents say has been in a coma while serving a 15-year prison term in North Korea, was released and returned to the United States Tuesday, June 13, 2017, as the Trump administration revealed a rare exchange with the reclusive country. (AP Photo/Jon Chol Jin, File)American Otto Warmbier, 22, who was found guilty of taking down a poster in North Korea, is dead.  Sentenced to 15 years hard labor, the Trump Administration secured his release approximately a week before he died.  Otto’s father, Fred Warmbier said former Pres. Obama did nothing to help his son.

Otto had remained imprisoned for a year and a half.  North Korean officials claimed he had contacted “botulism”.  This had been proven false.  Doctors report severe neurological damage.

The only evidence of Otto’s vandalism is a security video, where his face cannot be seen.  His “confession” was, no doubt, coerced.

North Korea has used this event as a way to humiliate the United States.  I would advise the President to take the strongest retaliatory measure against their leader Kim Jong Un.
